Love’s Departure

In the shadows of our mistakes, I yearn to pen,
To seek him out in a realm beyond time's den.
Ere the tears, relentless, rent our hearts asunder,
When our past stood tall, a monument to wonder.

Gone are the days of vibrant prose and rhyme,
Now echoes of solitude fill the space and time.
Once brimming with tales, now silenced and still,
The void speaks volumes, an emptiness to fill.

Perhaps it's the twist of fate's cruel decree,
That renders our tale a somber elegy.
For would you have lingered, if I hadn't fled,
In this bittersweet dance, where love and loss tread?
