The Oasis Within

In the desert of my soul,
Where the winds of doubt do blow,
I wander, searching for the oasis...
Of the Beloved's love to know.

Through sandstorms and scorching heat,
I trudge along the way,
Hoping to find the path that leads
To the eternal light of day.

But as I journey on,
I realize the truth,
The oasis was within me all along,
In my heart---the Beloved's proof.

So I sit and meditate
In the silence of my mind,
And feel the love that flows,
Of the divine, of that kind.

And in that state of peace,
I find my true self,
Connected to the Beloved,
In love, in health.
