# The Immortal Song of Life

A life without love is nothing but waste. To divide love into spiritual love, material love, or physical love—such distinctions lead our understanding of love toward discrimination. Love has no name, love belongs to no particular category, love cannot be defined by any universally sanctioned method. Love is not a part of any specific world; love is itself a world. Either we dwell within it, or we exist outside it. There is nothing in between.

When love stirs the heart, our words and deeds follow the path set by the Creator, and then all needless reasoning, all contention and debate come to an end. Through silence and patience, the eternal music of service and peace is composed. Love need not be expressed; love simply expresses itself. For that precious treasure of love, people can stake their lives and fight with a smile in their hearts, dreaming of making it their own. Whoever carries the power of love in their heart can bear all suffering and trial with a smile.

All the pain in life, all sorrow, all anguish, all hurt, all ache—life itself is greater than all of these. Despair and disappointment will come to life, but they must not block our path forward. The Creator who has watched over us with care for so many years of our life, who has kept us well, may surely allow us to suffer for a time. We cannot accuse Him for this, nor can we lose faith in Him. Rather, in those difficult times, we must strengthen our faith in His justice. Surely, the path we walk now must lead to harm; that is why the Creator, through the immense suffering of that path, wishes to draw us away from it.

For all that we have, we thank the Creator as much as we are able; and for all that we have not been given, we should thank the Creator equally, for there surely lay some misfortune hidden within our wishes or prayers. The finest answer to all our sorrow and grief is silence. Difficult times increase our inner strength and teach our hearts to heal their own wounds. We learn to live with greater resilience than we ever imagined, a new dimension of our character unfolds—one that teaches us forbearance, restraint, and humility. We learn to know ourselves and the world around us anew.

When a person falls on hard times, they come to know life most intimately. A full purse, good fortune, or sound health—none of these can make life known to us.

The first step toward understanding the meaning of life is to remove ego from within ourselves. If we can do this, we will feel unburdened; blossoming in the light of our own inner being, a wondrous connection will form between the world within us and the world without. In this way, we draw near to power, we find the place in our heart where the Creator dwells, and if we are not swayed by the scattered thoughts that would lead us to conclusions, but instead follow the whisper of our own heart, then all that is auspicious for us enters our life. What happens when we pray? Our heartbeat, our breath, all our feelings merge together and surrender ourselves to the Creator. The power of prayer can even alter the destiny of a person. Prayer is the magic of awakening one's own faith and inner strength.
