# Whispers of Respite The afternoon leans into silence, a soft exhale of wind through the latticed window. Here, in this corner where light pools gold, I have learned the grammar of stillness. Not the death of sound— but its gentle turning away, like a friend who nods and says nothing because the words have already lived in the space between us. My hands remember work, the ache of reaching, the small surrenders. But now they rest on my lap, palms up, asking nothing of the world. The garden outside holds its breath. Even the sparrows have grown quiet, as if they too understand that some hours belong only to the gathering of strength, to the slow assembly of peace from fragments of ordinary light. I do not call this happiness— it is smaller than that, more honest. A reprieve. A truce with the wanting. The tea has gone cold in its cup. I do not reach for it. The book lies closed beside me. These are not failures of attention but gifts, the way a room gives rest to whoever enters it with tired eyes. Outside, the world drums on— its necessary noise, its hunger. But here, in this corner, I have found the other music: the one that plays when we finally stop listening for it.

After a taxing day or a lengthy, uninspiring gathering,
fatigue and tension will weigh upon you.
Rest assured, you'll find me nearby, offering solace with a welcoming embrace.

As conversations meander and connections fray,
leaving you drained and disoriented,
take a moment to exhale, for I stand beside you,
a steady presence in the ebb and flow of life.

In moments of solitude and the absence of companionship,
when the road ahead stretches far and lonely,
know that I am here, knocking softly at your door,
ready to accompany you through life's peaks and valleys.

While others may have their preferences and priorities,
count yourself fortunate to have me as your occasional companion,
a constant amidst life's ever-changing landscape.
