In English there is a very interesting and favourite idiom of mine: "It takes two to tango", which means "Two are needed for tango" in a literal translation. In other words, some things are beyond the power of just one, as well as the responsibilities for them. I think more and more often about the word Reciprocity. About how special it is to be a part of something. Relationship, company, even in sharing your loneliness with someone you can be mutual. It's not very complicated, is it? To dissolve and light the bulbs. Because someone is in the dark. Your light can dispel his darkness. Or at least to soften it, I know...the important thing is that the feeling is separated and divided equally. It's more honest somehow. All you have to do is be present---not so much physically. More emotionally. To feel more. To feel the other. To keep your hands open when his pain spreads and stains everywhere. To have a handkerchief for the tears that have just flowed. To be there when someone comes home and doesn't need words. Only from your silent presence. Sometime around 9pm, Wednesday night. Or Friday. What does that matter? Just be there. To share the air with another heart. Reciprocity is also when you are miles away from someone. But you think so. So, you just think about what he or she is doing and hope that nothing bad happens to him. It is reciprocal, because even though your body is not there, your mind, anxiety and spirit fly to it. Because you care. Because a person can be a strong rock, a concrete pillar and a volcano of emotions. OK. Very nice even. But what if it doesn't have that spark that makes you hurry. To ring the bell impatiently. Because somewhere behind the door there is someone with whom you want to share some time of yourself. To kiss his eyes. To touch his hands. To get lost in his pupils. Where you can walk. Stripped of scars. Only by your feelings. Where you can cry without worry. Where you can kiss without stopping. Where you can get hurt, but still no one hurts you. There it is called Reciprocity. It's warm there. And it is very special. I wish you reciprocity. For a feeling. And for sharing.
