In the office meeting, Turya had presented some truly brilliant ideas, but Rohan shot down every single one, constantly nitpicking and finding fault. Since Rohan was the MD's relative, no one dared push back too hard against him. Rohan and Turya got along well enough. Trying to understand the reason behind Rohan's irrational behavior, Turya learned that Rohan's little daughter had been hospitalized for the past six days. After work each day, he rushed straight to the hospital. His only child's condition wasn't good, so his mind wasn't right either—though it's hardly the mark of a wise man to inflict pain on others because of his own suffering. That evening too, right after the office closed, Rohan hurried off to the hospital as usual. Without letting Rohan know, Turya had already stationed himself at the hospital gates with some fruits, chocolates, and a toy. Rohan was genuinely startled to see him. When Turya was leaving after visiting the sick child, he told him, Brother, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me. I'm your brother—Shauli is my daughter too. I'll pray for her. Two ages passed after that. Rohan's little daughter now holds a child of her own, a year and a half old. Even now, Rohan curls inward with shame and guilt. Withdrawn by nature, he has never managed to say sorry to Turya, not once in all this time. He's tried many times, meant to do it, but some inexplicable force held his tongue. There are people like this in the world—people who, try as they might, cannot bring themselves to apologize, and so they die regretting it all their lives.
