Bengali Poetry (Translated)

I am as I am

I am what I am, just as I am.
This is how I was made.
I am not like you.
Whatever you are, I accept you.
You accept me too. Learn to accept.
If you can't learn, then measure the road.

When I feel like laughing, I laugh without thinking.
The sound of my laughter is nothing pleasant.
And with this, I am fine.

One of my faults:
I only like those
who like me.
If I see next time
that someone I liked before
has changed their mind about me,
then my favorite person changes too.
I don't like forcing affection.
Yes, I am like this. I don't even mind staying alone with myself.

Whatever you say or think,
I will remain this childish.
Don't expect anything more from me.
Even if you do, it makes no difference to me.
I'm not bound to live keeping you happy.

Everything I have, I won't change any of it thinking of anyone.
My nose is snub, my eyes and lips... to put it clearly... are ugly.
My belly is easily noticeable, neither my arms nor chest are well-built in any conventional sense.
In exactly this form I will appear before you always.
I have no desire to do anything more than this for you.

Why am I saying all this, listen.
Yes, I used to love someone.
She loved me too.
Don't ask me
whose fault the separation was.
Because you might get
a different answer to the same question from her.
Just know this, I will keep myself
exactly like this... whether
someone stays with me or not.
