Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Your laughter's diamond rays

In your slightest absence
I become a fierce revolutionary.
I feel you've become beauty's very definition
and dimmed the entire world.

In your body's
layer upon layer
lies sculpture's intricate craft
or like some goddess, like jasmine
you scatter your laughter's
diamond rays upon my weakness;
and I
like a sailor, rudderless, lost,
search for you
in the silver river's rolling waves,
in the gaps between the rising moon's shimmering ripples.

This is you—
for a thousand years
with a researcher's gaze
I've sought the one who
has dissolved herself
into eternal beauty.
