How swiftly time flows by…
I remember, at each day's end—
you and the moon stayed beside me,
to wipe away the weariness of busy days.
I love that shimmer in your eyes,
which flares like flame in moonlight,
within this small phone screen's frame.
Though we live thousands of miles apart,
beneath the same sky,
under the same moon, this being alive
brings me peace.
The moon always burns for me,
I know—it burns for you too.
Yet fear creeps into my heart,
today the moon still burns—
brilliant as every day,
but where are you?
I wait...
again and again I search for your response,
grow anxious... are you well,
or have you wandered off somewhere else?
Perhaps one day you'll say—
you're no longer part of my life,
you can no longer shine
beside me like the moon.
Yes—
then my greatest fear
will come alive and stand before me.
You and the Moon
