Sometimes life hides its face in shame, fold by fold, in the creases of someone's lowered lids. Sometimes life clings openly, eyes wide! In the innocent laughter on lips, or in the stream of tears—life can always be found. Even where both eyes have lost all their dreams, life remains. Where dreams suddenly shatter, life stays on in the trembling body. This very life becomes utterly small when it stands before the whole world, yet in one corner of the heart, this entire life settles as memory. In the weariness of daily living, life is sometimes wrapped in sorrow, sometimes in life's own truth, life blazes bright. When friends don't understand, or understand only to mock cruelly, life is there too...perhaps in wet eyes. In a child's guileless laughter, in crowds or in clamor, life keeps itself! In the meeting or parting of eyes, in moment's closeness to moment, even in the unknown places of the world...life simply passes. Life exists in misunderstandings, in fulfillment and in futile attempts alike. Where life stops or stands still—even there, life exists!
