Bengali Poetry (Translated)

When silence falls silent

Say nothing more. Not to anyone.
 Let silence settle for now.
When weariness descends on us both,
then, perhaps, let your lips move!

 Come, let us sit close.
The night deepens, time grows short.
 Make not the slightest sound.
Let down your hair, bury your face.

 Even silence now is hushed.
 Something trembles like heavy clouds.
Don't stir. Let your body yield.
 Fear nothing, I am here.

Our lips have little strength left.
This is not weakness—it is hesitation.
