Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Waiting for You

Life stepped beyond familiar rhythms...
without even knowing.

Nothing seems mine anymore;
loving, being loved...
all trapped in ownership's graveyard—
staying put feels suffocating.

Listen, if that dear one suddenly returned...
why can't I feel that jolt
from within my heart
that should have sparked such joy?

Touching you, how much did I change?
Was I never truly close to anyone?
Like this—I was caught in imagination for so long.

You came.
I wrapped myself in deep self-embrace.
You left.
I spent the rest of my life waiting for you.
