Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Untouchable Reverie

The starlight dims and fades,
clouds devour the moon across the sky.

This darkness feels like—
the storm of your breath through loosened hair,
the shiver of your kiss beside my ear,
the touch of your lips upon my lips,
the intimate press of finger against finger,
breaking silent walls with love's most perfect song.

Nothing was gained!
Yet desires wake and live—
wild with the need to rush into your arms.

Fierce waves of flood return again and again to the ocean's depths,
yet I could drown a thousand shores in deluge if I wished!

Only loving you,
my chatак heart waits for rains yet to come.
You don't understand waiting—
without you, my blood's warmth rises and rises
until it floats as vapor, falls as rain.

Meaning to touch you
I pull back my hand,
meaning to have you, I turn away
a thousand loves…

To love—let this be my joy!
When will you touch me?
After that, you'll have no more
fever for touching anyone else.
