Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Unpromised

I pause and gaze into your eyes—
each time my breath grows heavy.
I lose myself in the emptiness of your embrace—
gasping in the bitterness of feeling,
as long as I wish to keep writing.

I have never lived within your life—
so I drew no boundaries
around your habits.

I am not twisted—
so I never used you when I needed to.

I have learned
that my unsolicited emotions...
hold no value at all for you.

I never learned to make promises—
for I lack the nature to overstep my bounds.
