Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Unblemished Connection

Do not grieve, beloved,
for this brief parting of mine—
your touch leaves behind
fierce wounds burning in this flesh.
Do not come unprepared at this hour
when all my joy exists for you alone.

If reality should ever widen the distance between us,
simply call to me once through the depths within.
However vivid I am in your imagination,
you have remained constant in my vision.

How much I matter as your alternative—
if only this soul of mine could know!
In this resolve you were bound by vows.
