We stand, most likely, very close to death.
This is such a death that when it draws near, love keeps people at a distance.
The birds that used to sing in melancholy notes
sit silent in their nests today, afraid.
Even if we die, no one will touch us then.
Not mother, not father, not child, not beloved.
The world's darkest hour has arrived today.
Perhaps nature cannot bear too many sins upon her shoulders.
We never took rest.
We ran ourselves. We made others run.
We were taught that running is the name of life.
We were kept exhausted for ages upon ages.
Today nature wants to free us from this restless existence.
In the name of unity we have drifted apart day after day.
We have made staying distant our ritual while pretending to come close.
Today, staying away means staying away, coming close means coming close.
This is silent revenge. This is the ultimate answer.
Our family bonds have shattered with tinkling sounds like fragile bangles.
The father has forgotten to take his child in his arms each day—in fatigue, in busyness.
We grew accustomed to living outside the home, in the busyness of not meeting.
Today all busyness has come to a halt,
after many days, people are seeing people from very close.
We had sky, but no custom of sky-watching.
We had ocean, but no time to wet our feet there.
We had mountains, but no heart to touch their bodies.
Today we have everything just as before.
As bonus we have rules, time, heart...all these too.
Along with one more new ritual...its name is captivity!
We cannot know when our relief will come.
We cannot understand how many more days we remain alive.
We cannot imagine how many more awakening mornings we'll see our beloved.
We live in fear, we exist unnaturally,
we are perhaps becoming somewhat mad.
Even our purest love cannot hold back death.
Despite intense unwillingness, we must wait for this simple truth's live staging.
When disease nests in our bodies, even our closest person won't come near.
Even if we die, no one will stand before our grave and weep.
Tearlessness is today's new rule. Watching silently as one dies is today's new fate.
All our power,
all our pride,
all our wealth,
all our achievements,
all our beliefs,
all our experience,
all our logic,
all our victories...
are turning false before time today!
Gradually we move toward an endless leisure.
Toward an endless leisure
