Bonsai of Thoughts

Thoughts in Bonsai: One Hundred Thirty-Six

1. I had committed no crime,
yet as the judge began to write my verdict, his pen broke!

2. Having spent my whole life reading and writing with notebooks and pens, I now see
that true learning never required notebooks and pens at all!

3. In childhood I used to play in the afternoons,
and now I sleep with my eyes closed.

4. I once couldn't find food to eat,
today the white dog at my home eats yogurt.

5. After learning to hate, I understood
what love really is!

6. Speaking doesn't make words spoken,
words must be spoken through silence.

7. I'm not waging a battle to stay alive,
I'm practicing the art of dying.

8. God knows who you are to me;
and I know who I am to you!

9. If you throw me away, however,
you'll find nothing else within reach to throw.

10. When you do it, it's worship,
but when I do the very same thing, it's murder!

11. I love you more—just try to prove me wrong!
If you win this round, I'm willing to stake my very life!

12. So tired from living and living—living is really just another name for dying,
We wagered life itself in the name of love, trapped in the name of forever!

13. Why not take a little break from your nine-to-five routine that day?
No sari, no jewelry—go see that corpse wrapped in plain white cloth?

14. When you're going to lie anyway, keep your eyes turned away,
Those eyes of yours will spill every truth—I'm warning you, watch out!

15. Perhaps you won't need me anymore,
but you will need me again and again!
