Bonsai of Thoughts (Translated)

Thought Bonsai: One Hundred Thirty

1. Some live,
others merely stay alive!

2. What good came of giving up drink,
if you still go on intoxicating yourself?

3. If you truly wish to be drunk,
learn to drink with your eyes,
not with your lips!

4. What use is casting such glances!
If you want to see,
emerge from your shell!

5. If you remain
a prisoner of your own mind,
then what possessed you
to offer friendship?

6. The fellow travelers fled!
The destination became all the easier!

7. Wounded by sorrow's blow!
Slain by happiness's strike!

8. That heart which is ice-cold—
don't try to kindle fire in it—
you'll only burn your hands!

9. Some spend the entire night in waiting,
while others wait only for that night to come.

10. This heart trembles with the anguish of someone
who is never here with me.

11. Someone had shown me this path.
Halfway there, I discover
I have walked this far
holding someone else's hand!

12. One person planted the seed of today's me,
and another dreams of reaping the harvest!

13. That person who's skilled at healing sorrows—
why do you think my sorrow too will heal in their hands?
Do they even know where my sorrow lies?

14. Life's stories... conventional.
Even the degrees of madness... conventional.

15. After separation,
the sorrow of night or dawn...
the same.

16. The city of faithfulness has vanished today.
The house of friendship lies in ruins today.

17. The same kinds of faces... in every village.
The same kinds of masks... in every city.

18. This room, this place, this moment...
how they've changed by finding you!

19. What mystery lies in life's abundance—
only the one who becomes a guest
in their own familiar home knows.

20. Heal the ailments of all the world's people,
yet the one who loved you so deeply
and lies sick today... you won't even glance their way!
What kind of doctor are you!?
