The Water's Turmoil

Did you see with lazy eyes, perhaps?
Seeing, after all, tends to move parallel to hearing!
Yes, with lazy eyes you must have seen.

Otherwise, why didn't you hear?
The sleeping train you speak of — its foggy roar
was nothing but unspoken homage to you!

Otherwise, why didn't you catch the fragrance?
The incense left at the door of that pagan temple you mention —
what else could it be but part of your worship's offering, think for yourself!

Otherwise, why couldn't you feel?
That trembling cascade you witnessed — in its shelter
flows a hundred and fifty years of passionate refuge-seeking love
waiting only to surrender itself to you!

No... those elders you see didn't ask for
your retirement — they simply wanted to give up their place
to someone of your flawless talent, offering only
their weariness-stamped tribute!

Your handmade spring hasn't fled yet!
Look, even today it greets you with open arms!

Where now! Your voice doesn't just
ring in the ears and stop — it can be felt by the heart too!
But yes, to feel it you'd need that kind of heart, wouldn't you say!

Lifeless? No no... you mustn't become lifeless!
With that selfless, altruistic path you've taken to the streets,
keeping away all suffering and weariness, you must remain
spirited, devoted... to the very end!

Look... the white pigeons will manage just fine
to befriend the nicotine from cigarettes!
You needn't worry about that!

The sacrificial altar, at day's end, is essentially ruins!
Nothing there to adorn!
That you still seek fresh laughter amid it all — that's your greatness!

That precious treasure you left behind
is truly priceless!
Then what fear remains in the final outcome?
Let that magnificent love hidden in the ice cream vendor's cart
at the lane's corner remain unspoken this time!

No no... by changing two days into three
they didn't kill the day — merely brought progress forward!

Looking for a solution? This is it! What else!
What other solution do you expect
from this selfish world that believes in the system of exchange!

And even if you did expect something!
It will prove you incapable of operating the compass, then...
arrange the explanation for the circle's changing radius in its usual acceptable way!

So I tell you — why should you needlessly
give priority to water's troubles and lose water's love of listeners...
and that too, by your own hand!
