Bengali Poetry (Translated)

The Sanctuary of Touch

In a fierce wash of blissful sensation
my body was going numb,
I could not bear it.

You had come so terrifyingly close—
as if I wanted
to hold my breath by force!

How is it possible
to summon such powerful feeling
in imagination—
I do not know.

Who you are to me,
that too I do not know.

Come, let me keep the scent of your body
in my breath.

Come, let me touch the wounds
gathered deep in your eyes.

Come, let me blend the warmth of your chest
into my own sensing.

That sliver of moment made alive by your touch—
I clutch it and live.
