The Right to Be There

The person who stayed beside you even in your emptiness—only that person deserves the right to remain with you in your fullness.

The woman who became your partner in poverty, day after day witnessing your empty pockets—only she holds the complete right to share the royal throne in your days of majesty.

The man who chose you despite being surrounded constantly by beautiful women, who never left for another—only he holds the clear right to stay with you for the remaining seven lifetimes.

Simply saying "I love you, I love you" day and night until your voice breaks doesn't prove love. Sometimes love must be demonstrated. Love is proven by standing beside someone in dark times, by showing respect even in their failures, by not leaving even when many paths to escape lie open.

The existence of love isn't proven by a few texts, regular phone calls, or routine meetings. The most irrefutable proof of love is found in the feeling of peace itself.

Love is proven in moments of exhaustion or melancholy—by holding their hands firmly, by sitting beside them. In their difficult times, letting them rest their head on your chest and making them understand: let everyone else leave if they must; this heart is my home, I will never abandon you...!

Want to hear something hopeful?

Not everyone will leave you. Some will actually abandon everything else to hold onto you. Not everyone will only stay beside you in good times—some will remain even through your struggles. When everyone else slowly disappears like water flowing downstream during your hardships, some will still cling to your life like algae caught against the current, standing firm without caring for any worldly calculations.

Not all rivers meet the sea; some change course and merge at estuaries. Not everyone will deceive you—some will help you win even if they lose themselves.

These people in our lives are the truly precious ones, the valuable angels. Just as an oyster carefully nurtures a pearl within its heart, we must hold such people close, embrace them tightly, and keep them safe within our hearts. We must never let them go... not even for a hundred wrongs, not even if a thousand obstacles arise... never.
