Bengali Poetry (Translated)

The Primordial Woman Comes

Not king, not queen, behold,
the primordial woman comes
toward civilization.

Bow down, destiny,
you bow down to her.

Light, become awareness,
shadow, become bird,
sorrow, become the bird's world,
joy, become the milk-heavy cow.

Darkness, you become grass.
Fear, become dust of the feet.

Not lord, not lady, behold,
the primordial woman comes
toward progress.

Honor her, sun,
you honor her,
nature, become empire,
tree, become river,
envy, become throne,
bird, become serpent,
awareness, become human,
sin, become the bird's food,
and serpent, become gleaming sword.

Not tiger, not tigress, behold,
the primordial woman comes
beneath the flag.

Draw her close, stars,
you accept her as master,
you worship her,
and O moon, you make her empress,
acknowledge her as empress—seat her on the throne.

Woman shall be empress, let woman be empress.
