Bengali Poetry (Translated)

The Air of Breath

Within you are, without you are—
leaving no gap, no space between.
I seek you on the endless path,
inside and out, as one, unseen.
Lord, you are the breath I breathe.

Pour down the moonlight's silver stream,
stir waves upon the darkened water.
Fragrant as jasmine-scented air,
distant as some lake's daughter.
Lord, you are the breath I breathe.

Spread your seat in mango groves,
drink honey from the lotus pond.
Build a house of cooling shade,
yet burn like monsoon sun beyond.
Lord, you are the breath I breathe.

King upon the mountain peak,
wake trembling in a woman's heart,
giver of joy when love is done,
bring fire to souls apart.
Lord, you are the breath I breathe.
