Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Standing Before Myself

: Hey hey...who are you in the mirror!?
: I am the you that lives within you.

: Tut tut...it's you...!? You go away, leave this instant!
: Are you so afraid to look inside yourself?

: Where are your clothes?
: I am pure being—not a masked human!

: I know if I splash water on my eyes, I won't see you anymore.
: Go on, splash water. Here I'll sit, I'm not going anywhere.

: Tell me, what will you take when you leave?
: What else could a wretched person like you give me!?

: Believe me, I'm not bad, not so wretched!
: Does the word "believe" even suit your lips!?

: Why do you speak with such sharp barbs?
: As if you understand nothing at all!

: No, I've done nothing wrong, I have no sin!
: Ha ha ha...you just spoke of sin yourself!

: You leave right now, get out of here!
: Tell me, how will you keep yourself hidden?

: I'll kill you!
: If I don't exist, where will you be!?

: I don't know, I'll be alone, no one inside will speak!
: Even if I let go...remember, the burden of your sins won't let you go.

: Die now, I'll strangle you!
: Come then, let's die together!
