Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Sitting Beside My Beloved Wound

I want to take you away—
beyond all rules,
I want to spend beside you—
one more silent night.

All the care I hold for you,
I want you to feel it—
that's why I want to take you
to an unknown, cool room,
where silence begins
the reckoning with memory.

I couldn't erase by lighting lamps—
my wounds.
Even now I turn off the lights,
and you, only you, inside my chest
stir up storms, again and again.
Hold me tight with both your hands—
don't be afraid,
I follow no rules,
I want only to touch you
by breaking them all.

Don't quicken your heartbeat,
I feel utterly emptied.
I want—
your warm embrace,
your unburdened words...
let your restlessness merge
with my weary breath.

Don't startle!
I want to touch your lips
with the final caress of my exhaustion.
Don't leave me in this moment.

You can only fall in love with my tears—
there I have placed
love's most intense touch.

Will you teach me how to love?
I don't want to win—
I only want to find myself
deep in your eyes,
in unbearable longing.
