Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Silent Vow

In the crowd of harsh rejections
losing you, I understood—
how still I am!
In the prison of restless longing
your sudden intervention,
behind the hushed voice
the anxiety of flawless consciousness.

I have severed worldly pleasures,
this heart intoxicated in search of you.
The love with which I touched your voice—
in the ruin of that ruthless vow
has begun—
destiny's deserted road.

In the death of the retreating shadow
enchanted by its true form,
as if—
sudden turbulence, inevitable!

Sharp fragrance through her hair,
mockery spread in another name.
In the long catastrophe
the heart grew weary—
yet in written form you are still
revealed in this heart today.
