Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Pathlessness

You never held my hand, yet with a gesture
you brought me to this place
where everything is strange to me.

So new, so unfamiliar—
all that's happening... that
all words have stilled within my heart.

Dense fog on every side;
so thick,
every path back is closed.

Can't stop even if I wished, it's so slippery;
helpless now, what else can be done
but to keep moving forward?

The first thing I lost after stepping onto this path
was you. If you were going to disappear,
then why did you call me?

Where is that melody
that enchanted my heart?
Where is that truth
that gave me courage?
Where is that light
whose particles I caught in this mind?

There is no light, this is only
sinking into darkness.
Yet I still believe
you are there, holding me...
otherwise even standing would be impossible!

Who will catch me? Who will hold me? Where shall I go?
With just one step, everything vanished!
How do I take another step?
If I don't, then...
I lose both feet!
