Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Now I am dead

The slightest glimpse of hidden restlessness—
is profound sorrow.
In her merest absence
I become deeply restless,
this truth—she came to know one day.

In a sudden moment,
she began to plead...
that I might ease my restlessness.

In anguish my chest...broke into muffled sobs!
The veins of my feeling were cut and blood flowed—
which could not be stopped, no matter what.

Today I am profoundly still—
therefore, within me today...
there is no restlessness,
I am no longer weary from momentary torment.

Across my tranquil heart,
by natural law—
even her faint shadow is absent.

Throughout the pulse of my existence—
there is no trace of her coming and going.

Now I am dead.
