Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Now all is darkness

Stay inside your inner room, don't venture out.
Keep doors and windows shut, don't open them.

Live in such a way that
walls stand before you and behind.
Build walls, learn the art of wall-building.
Those whose faces you're meant to show walls to—
don't show them your face.

Keep this in mind:
even if you find no path forward,
there's absolutely no way back.

Here, everything is dark. Now, everything is dark.
If you want light, first
you must feel the darkness...
therein lies darkness's beauty.

You have no identity—for now, this is your identity.

Day by day courage will grow,
and with it, you too will grow.
...One day you'll realize
that staying quiet and hidden doesn't mean
powerlessness, but rather
preventing some wastage of strength.

Never let strength run out while time remains.
Once strength is spent, time itself is gone!
