# No Time To Get Lost There is no time to get lost in the labyrinth of your eyes— the world is burning, and we have appointments to keep. There is no time to memorize the geography of your skin, to map the continents where my fingers might wander— the news is screaming, and our phones are ringing. There is no time to sit in the cathedral of your silence, to listen to the liturgy of your unspoken thoughts— the markets are crashing, and we have emails to answer. There is no time to build a garden in the space between us, to let flowers grow from the soil of our slow, deliberate touches— the traffic is mounting, and we are already late. There is no time to drown in the ocean of your voice, to learn the language that only your mouth can speak— the world is impatient, and it does not wait for lovers. So we pass each other like trains on parallel tracks, close enough to feel the wind of what might have been, too hurried to stop, too afraid to stay. And the saddest part is not that we have no time— it is that we have forgotten how to make it.

Don't weave me into your stories,
I'm already tangled in enough snares...
People are people in theory,
but in truth they crash headlong into each other
and collide with slurs,
with lies, with blindness, with rage!

Don't seat me beside the dull-minded,
and don't trap me between "he said" and "she said",
because I have no time to drown
in everyone's petty cruelty---
I still want to wake each morning
to the sun and the birds' singing.
