(On Radha-Krishna-Meera)

1. Look to Krishna and learn.
The one who makes your heart so restless
is the first to withdraw from life!

2. The sublime union of RadhaKrishna is but a pretext,
teaching the world selfless love is the true purpose!

3. Krishna's flute will surely play!
Love will awaken in Radha's heart!
Krishna plays the flute in joy,
if that joy awakens love,
where is the fault in the flute?

4. When RadhaKrishna's glory captures the heart,
love itself dies in happiness!

5. What difference does the color of skin make?
Who comes to love whom — love alone explains!
Else would Radha rush toward Krishna?

6. One whose heart's eye can see,
to them that one constantly runs;
just as Radha, leaving all behind,
circles back to Govinda alone!

7. Love knows neither the lure of wealth nor the pride of riches;
look at Radha — forgetting the entire world, she merges with Krishna alone!

8. Separation doesn't bring tears to the eyes, only love does,
why Radhika's eyes fill with tears — only Kanai knows!

9. Love, it only grows in separation!
Even from afar, Kanai captivates Radhika!

10. Those who fall in love — their two souls become one!
RadhaKrishna didn't unite, yet where are the two, see!

11. Those who don't know how to receive love, look to Krishna!
Those who don't know how to give love, learn from Radha!

12. If obstacles on the path make love fade,
would Radha and Krishna have become RadhaKrishna by uniting?

13. If love only sought arrangements for getting,
would there be need for worship in RadhaKrishna's love-glory?

14. Radha's love was pure, with no dwelling of selfishness,
that's why the world eternally takes Radha's name before Krishna's!

15. In Radha's letter flowed a river of emotion, there was no barrier!
In it, floating with tears of joy, Krishna's reply was only Radha Radha!

16. One who has such intense pull toward the flute,
what pride or petulance matters to them?

17. If you must understand love, look toward Meera!
Sometimes a stream of poison in the throat, sometimes hiding tears!

18. Love makes such strange judgments!
Meera drank poison in Krishna's pull,
yet the world acknowledges Radha!

19. If someday you understand love,
you will become Meera that day,
fighting alone against the entire world,
people will call you restless!

20. He who is Krishna must become the world's refuge,
she who is Meera, her life thus lies in Krishna!

21. Learn patience from father,
love from mother;
learn romance from Radha,
waiting belongs to Meera!

22. If you become Radha,
you take love into your breast.
If you become Meera,
love takes you, knowing!

23. Night deepens, love falls.
Radha dies in Krishna's intoxication!
Meera torn by Krishna's love-poison.
That same Krishna's queen becomes different!

24. People love and die fearing scandal!
Meanwhile Meera, lost in love, wears the anklets of disgrace!

25. If you don't know Meera,
then Krishna is unknown, know this!

26. Doesn't Krishna come when called?
I understand Meera, and seek Krishna!

27. Did Meera ever get a glimpse of Ghanashyam?
Apart from one Meera, who else has found that diamond?

28. One who loves, alas, receives only slander!
Radha comes first, Meera goes into neglect!

29. One who colors the world in pure love's hue,
that is Meera's image, that restless heart!

30. Knowing she won't get him, yet still loves, ah!
Krishna's Radha or Meera — what binds her so!
