Meeting the Right Person

Just once in life, you will encounter someone who will turn your entire world upside down. You will find yourself sharing things with them that you have never told another soul.

Who in this world truly listens with their heart, tell me! Who gives their time to another without self-interest! Yet you will be amazed to see that this person is listening to everything you say, and they are not rushed about it—rather, they are genuinely interested. Yes, they want to hear your life's story, your sorrows, your dreams of happiness with patient and unbroken attention. They show not the slightest weariness when it comes to you.

Then, filled with joy, you will tell them one by one all your thoughts about the future, all the dreams you see knowing they will never be fulfilled, all the goals you could never reach, and all the paths of despair down which life has led you until today. They too will listen with complete attention, having all the time in the world for you.

Yes, the two of you will become good friends. You will begin to feel that you can tell this person everything, that you can follow all their words, that you can trust them blindly—this person is the angel of your life.

Whenever something good happens in your life, you tell them everything, and you cannot find peace until you do! You know that speaking your thoughts to them will bring you tranquility. Your words are safe in their heart; beside them you feel light as a feather. In this world, this one person waits to accept you exactly as you are.

This person is such that if your words cause them pain, they can weep right before you, and if your jokes amuse them, they dissolve in laughter right in front of you. Yes, you too can cry before them, laugh freely. The one before whom you can weep without shame—only they are truly a kindred soul.

This person will never wound your feelings, will never mock anything about you. When the whole world loses faith in your abilities, this one person will still believe from their heart that you are not finished yet, that you still possess the strength to conquer the world.

Their boundless faith in you will never be lost; rather, they will show you clearly where your strengths lie, why you are different from others. When no one even looks your way, precisely then, they will see you as more beautiful and worthy than before. You will be amazed to discover that for their sake alone you want to rebuild yourself from nothing, to live in the dream of a beautiful life. The faith and inspiration of a beloved person can carry one very far.

When this person is beside you, you will feel no pressure within yourself, you will not busily try to hide yourself from the world, no jealousy or competition will find place in your mind. In their company you will be inspired rather than envious. A kind of peace will spread through your entire body and mind. You can remain exactly as you are; you need not show anything extra, need not resort to any pretense—the person before whom this is possible is the one you will surely meet someday. This person will accept you as you are, will love you as you are.

Those small things that many cannot even notice—little messages, beautiful songs and poems, playful banter, sitting face to face holding hands, walking hand in hand by the river or in the park—all the things you love dearly, you will see that this person values these things, tries to keep you happy. While spending time with them, you will feel again and again as if childhood has suddenly returned! Living will be joyful, your age will seem to decrease greatly. You will clearly see before your eyes that you are very well indeed.

Life's colors will become brighter, and you will want to touch that colorful life. The laughter you once had to wait for will become a daily companion. The happiness you once feared even to dream of will seem trapped in the palm of your hand! Hearing their voice when you wake in the morning will give you strength to live the entire day. A small "good night" from them before you sleep will sweep away all the day's weariness from within you. Your eyes will always smile before your lips do.

It is not that you speak with them constantly. You do not need such unceasing conversation either. Keeping them in your mind, you can talk with them whenever you wish. One who cannot be kept in the mind, whom you must have before your eyes to possess, with whom you cannot converse at will without their presence—what kind of kindred soul is that!?

That they exist in your life—this itself is your greatest source of strength. Just thinking of their existence makes your mind smile spontaneously. You feel constantly that today you are deeply happy, deeply content, deeply unburdened.

Things you once did not enjoy doing—you will see that today you are eager to do them. More important than the necessity of doing the work is that this person likes doing it, or this person has asked you to do it. Everything about them is something special to you, every word of theirs is important to you, every request from them is as significant as life itself to you, every happiness of theirs is supreme to you. Wherever you go, whatever you do, whatever you think, however you exist, you will see that always their thoughts are intimately wrapped around your thinking, your imagination, your very being.

In very ordinary things you will find happiness vast as the sky; this person's companionship on stormy nights will bring gentle breezes of security to your mind; the entire radiance of the horizon will spread across your eyes, face, and heart. The person before whom you want to open your heart, someone exactly like this is what you desperately need to mend the broken pieces of your existence. If only to find the love and happiness you have never encountered in life, you desperately need this person.

Hearts do not need mending unless they break, so heartbreak is sometimes actually beneficial. One whose heart has never broken has never truly known life. One who has not yet felt the shock of shattered dreams has not even begun to walk the path of dreams. Without fear, the thought of victory never enters the mind! One who loses nothing eventually loses themselves.

When you find that friend with whom your soul connects wonderfully, life itself will gradually change. Life will feel different; the journey will seem if not easy then very bearable. Living will feel good, life will seem new every day; you will want to live if only to see what happens tomorrow. Then the greatest source of confidence in your life will be this: such an angel exists in your life, who places you above the entire world, who will stay beside you even when the whole world abandons you, holding whose hand you can dream of becoming pure gold and burn cheerfully in the blazing flames of a roaring fire.
