I'm ready to translate your Bengali poetry into English. Please share the Bengali text you'd like me to translate, and I'll create a literary translation that captures the essence, voice, and emotional truth of the original while maintaining natural, idiomatic English that reads as literature in its own right.

Love, stay well

I placed you first on my list of life's most cherished souls,
yet my name, they say, isn't even on your waiting list! Fine! Such is the way of things!

Where I've kept news of your well-being hidden away like treasure,
there you forgot my very existence without a second thought!

My sorrows, regrets, wounds, and torments — none of these touch you,
yet even your slightest dejected look
transforms the entire world around me.

You refuse to let rooms stay dark,
yet when you arrived I would want to blow out the lamps;
I'd think, with you in the room, what need for extra light?

How many times you struck and bloodied me,
yet I could never bear even the ache in your heart.

I wanted to touch you with love's tenderness,
but that same you — how could you hurl me away like that?

Whatever comes to pass, I love you,
and so I can never abandon you and walk away!
When you love, so much slips beyond your own control.

Still, at your wish I withdrew my hand from yours today.
For your own well-being, at least, love someone —
even by mistake... love, won't you?
Without knowing how to love, or refusing love, true well-being is impossible.

See how, despite scorning me, neglecting and humiliating me,
you are not well. And yet, receiving all those heavy gifts you gave,
simply by loving you I remain quite well!
Seeing me, surely you know my words hold no lie!
Witnessing all this, can't you grasp the truth?
