Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Like a tranquil river

I have always wanted you,
with all my heart and soul—
very close to me,
in silence's enchantment,
deep within my breast.

Face to face with you I stand
still, self-satisfied...in consent;
in wounded wakefulness,
this exiled moment.

The moment you—
draw me to your heart,
all my grievances, all my anguish...
everything rests silent like a calm river.
