Kisses

Today I want to kiss you,
but not as before,
but as I know how to do it now—
with kisses that make your skin tremble,
that you feel across your body,
and the sensation rises
to the very tip of your hair,
and as it travels upward
quickens the heartbeat of your heart.

Kisses that drench your humanity,
your hidden treasures, all of you—
and if you wish, I will dry your sweat
with my tongue, with my skin,
with my naked body against yours.
It is not lust, it is passion,
it is drowned desires, it is love,
it is tenderness, it is waking dreams
made flesh
because you have desired it.

Because I want it, because the time
has come to unleash what lies hidden...
the time when our mouths,
our lips live out their wildness.
They glisten with fluids once again,
knowing each other,
giving themselves completely,
without measure, without boundary—
for kisses to pour from the soul
as you have always desired them,
as I have always wanted.
