Is it with suffering alone...
that we all remain alive?
This will to live — how urgent is it, really?
As if merely to hold onto this body—
drives our desperate haste!
Then...? Where will peace be found?
Have you ever embraced yourself?
Or stood face to face with self-inquiry?
Have you ever run toward your own cry?
Peace—why do you seek it then?
At day's end, searching for a fragment of peace,
how many vows people are ready to take,
silently they can abandon—
even life's tender hold!
How strange!
In Search of Peace
