When something dear to you breaks,
can you mend it with your own hands?
When their eyes betray what they say,
can you find it in you to forgive?

When someone walks away,
will you call them back, once more?
When darkness swallows you whole,
can you dwell in it, and endure?

After they're gone, do you remember—
with a gentle heart—even the bitter days?
When you've been cruel, when you've wounded,
can you say to them: forgive me, please?

When you want but cannot understand,
do you reach out, calling for love?
Sometimes, without meaning to,
do you simply lay down your pride?

When you cry and also laugh at once,
do the tears still wet your face?
When joy blazes through your being,
do you give that light to someone else?
