If You Love Well

 The truth is this...
 Either you love me,
 or you don't.
  
 If your thoughts about me shift from day to day,
 and those very thoughts govern your love,
 then you don't really love me at all.
  
 Perhaps you're not in a good mood today,
 perhaps I seem strange to you today,
 perhaps our chemistry isn't quite right today—
 if such things control your love,
 then you don't really love me at all.
  
 Hard times will surely come in life.
 If your love diminishes then,
 or if you let someone outside the two of us decide about our love,
 then you don't really love me at all.
  
 If you truly love,
 then even on the day
 when life doesn't go as you wish,
 or I don't turn out as you wish,
 or circumstances don't align as you wish,
 love me still;
 otherwise, never love at all.
