When the day comes I leave, that day whatever I leave behind, give it to our children and to that old man who waits for death. And if you must weep, weep for that brother of yours who walks right beside you... barefoot. And if you ever think of me, if you wish to give me something, reach out your hand to someone like that, who needs what you thought to give me. I'm leaving behind some tokens for you. Not these words, not these phrases; something better than all that. Among those I knew, or loved, there you'll find me. And if you truly want to remember, never keep me in your mind, only in your eyes. If you love me well, let your two hands hold those who need it; let your warmth reach those who need it; let your kindness be for those children who need it. You can't become noble just by not putting chains on people. Take off the chains too from those whose feet are bleeding. When people leave love stays just the same. When I'm gone your love for me will stay just the same. That day, give that love to those who need it. Love the dead by loving the living. After my death let me live, scatter me, let me sleep.
If I remain in your heart
