Bengali Poetry (Translated)

I haven't returned, I've stepped aside

I let you go today, but remember this:
you will remain tomorrow, the day after, or the day beyond that! And in all my births to come!

I will not utter even a whisper anymore,
will ask for nothing, will not even say—I love you!
I promise to stay hidden forever from the world's gaze.

On Judgment Day my ledger will be opened,
I will have to answer, will have to account
for everything, good and bad, one by one.

That day I will tell God about all the blue anguish I've stored in my chest,
and I will also tell Him this:
after Him, in this world I have worshipped only you!

Will God punish me for saying this?
What can I do, tell me? Nothing can be hidden from Him!
I will have to speak every truth—all that exists, wherever it lies!

But keep this one thing in mind:
whatever state I may be in,
that day too, with God's permission,
my head will remain bowed before you forever.

I believe I have loved you—
even if you don't believe it, God will surely believe me!

Go, leave today—
there, I've said it with full voice!

Some dawn night,
you will surely remember our memories.
And you will also remember
that I withdrew on my own,
I didn't turn you away as you would have done to me!
