Against the worth of all my breath, your presence stands, you are my personal God. A transparent mirror wrapped in love, where you are reflected every moment. Last night, leaping upon my eyes, I learned the address of a dreamful sky. There, shadowed, I crossed a world with you… such a night had never come to my room before. Some mist of vastness, some voice-choking melancholy, some resentment, some rage, some lament, some tired feathers, and again some peaceful words you left in my courtyard. Waking from years of sleeplessness I heard you like the bell-sound of a prayer hall. Your lonely weeping, hurled to one edge of infinity, why did it echo back as a perfect copy? After all this time? I could not quite understand! Why do you keep returning to that past moment which once buried you in dust storms! You are not vengeful, nor are you one who nurtures hatred. Then why don't you forget those words which, becoming an aggressive saw in your chest, only make you bleed again and again! The sound of your stifled weeping like ocean waves… still crashes against my chest! To carry you forward today like a story causes me great pain. After you fell asleep a torn map bloomed in my chest like cremation fire. For that fire to be extinguished I do not expect rain. I know, when the wounds of your heart heal someday, that day my cremation fire will die out on its own. The call to prayer drifts in, dawn is near. I told you to sleep for your health, yet under love's pretense I held you back and made you sicker than before! Such a mistake is unforgivable! I deserve punishment, you must often punish me with this, you know. Your voice, your songs on my reading table bloom like rose petals. It seems touching that rose, wrapping your fingers with mine, we are taking impressions of each other's sorrow! Somewhere far, the sea's ceaseless restless roar… Through the night's darkness your wounded hand came and touched one of my hands! Some faded separation, some moonlit moments telling tales of dream-crossing unite in wild communion. And then we sleep on salt ground!
Hereafter the Salt Earth
