Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Golden Period

There are moments in every life
that become the foundation of all days.
If you had never come,
everything might have gone on as before—
unmoved, hollow, silent.

But you came.
And I understood—
I had never known how to live this way before.

Patience with life,
the meaning of love,
the language of silence—
I learned it all anew, watching you.

I know I am not what your heart desires.
I have no power to do extraordinary things for you.
And I don't know—
whether I could remain myself without you.
Perhaps I couldn't…
perhaps I would break, slowly, slowly.

But know this,
you will remain inside me,
in a tender place—
where no one else can reach.
The time I've spent with you
is the most golden time of this life,
my golden period.
