Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Fasting

No need to hide and run,
this time you are free.
Just now they flew away—
two birds with wings spread wide.

You deceive me,
deceive yourself as well.
You throw dust in my eyes,
and in your own eyes too.

Loving you, I became a beggar,
kept my face hidden,
wept so much, I can weep no more—
my tears have all dried up.

If you can, one last time,
forgive me;
all the love I've given, here—
I leave it with you, complete!

Come one final time,
sit before me;
let my soul drink its fill of you,
break this lifelong fast.

Come, just look and go—
see how I am!
All the neglect you gave me
is worth more than you!
