Bonsai of Thoughts (Translated)

Bonsai of Thoughts: One Hundred and Nine

1. Who else exists
as greater deceiver
than one's own mind!?

2. Walking through water
in search of fish,
I see a fish seeking shelter
beneath my feet.

3. The mountain itself
rolls down
watching the flock of sheep
tumble.

4. Seeing you lie,
even raindrops weep so deeply...
like fragments of black pebbles!

5. Wild rain!
Rows of trees!
Unbroken stillness!

6. The sun rises furiously hot,
and just then a monkey
stops a car on the road
and begs for water.

7. The old mango tree
absorbs sunlight
from the sun,
instead of dancing with water.

8. Heavy-lidded eyes
bear witness
to labor and weariness.

9. Even for one who has no home,
on billboard after billboard along the road,
thousands of homes advertise!

10. In the cloudless sky
no rainbow,
only sunlight spreads.

11. After my death
my unworn clothes
will testify to my lifespan.

12. The trees standing roadside
greet with smiling faces
the cars racing on the road
and the dragonflies flying in the breeze.

13. Taking a bite
of your half-eaten apple,
I felt such satisfaction.

14. Even on days when there's no breeze anywhere,
the heavy leaf still
of its own will
silently touches the earth.

15. Moonlight is beautiful only
when in that light...
neither want nor sorrow
remains.

16. The bridge that used to sway often in the wind
now stands still-bodied,
bearing witness to some cracks.

17. However much you shout,
if you don't sit in the chair,
what good will all your shouting do!?

18. On this side and that of the sea
silent darkness gradually descends...
yet doesn't cease
the ancient weeping of fish.

19. Looking at the moon, I wonder,
has this tide of beauty
ever truly received proper judgment
in any poet's hands!

20. If you have courage,
come before my eyes and
strike me, as hard as you can!
Today... I rather like being hurt!
