1. I gazed out at the world,
and found it better to look within the heart!

I looked within the heart,
and found it better to gaze out at the world!

In this life of mine
neither the world was truly seen,
nor the heart!

2. By the light of her lamp I sit
writing poems,
she who befriends
only the moon!

3. Will even worse times come than these?
Tell me, how many times can one change a life!

4. To escape my own shadow
I leaped into the water!
Suddenly remembered—
I don't even know how to swim!

5. Today once again I wonder,
which version of my own face
will I see tomorrow!

6. I wanted to converse
with your eyes,
and you brought yourself
and stood before me!

7. To one who never loved you,
how much longer will you
explain yourself!

8. The river in which I float happily today—
won't this same river one day
sweep me away!?

9. Don't wish to hear my weeping.
You couldn't bear that much pain!

10. Besides causing me suffering,
what other talents do you possess—
show me, let me see!

11. Knock whenever you see me online!
I see you online too!

12. As much as I understand her,
I don't really love her well!
Yet why won't I let her
mingle with anyone else!

13. I dressed loneliness in clothes,
while I myself, naked,
fell asleep!

14. I asked only for love,
and you keep giving me
recognition for my work!

15. Lower your voice when you speak,
otherwise I cannot hear the love.

16. The sleep is yours,
the happiness yours,
the night yours too.
Only the shoulder is mine!

17. I surrender myself
only to keep you captive!

18. You tell me to return?
Give me back my youth as well!

19. Having you wasn't in my fate;
that's why fate itself changed so!

20. Those who had watched me for so long,
looking at my corpse, said:
