Bonsai of Thoughts (Translated)

Bonsai of Thoughts: Eleven

1. I have forgotten my identity today. Won't you give me shelter if I simply say I'm 'human'?

2. If I'm born again, I want to be born a woman. I want to see what it feels like to be truly cunning!

3. The time to bring me back has passed, beloved.
But do send me word once you reach home!

4. My human life is like a tree! I feel pain when leaves are torn, but I cannot speak.

5. My mother is very good, but I was safer in her womb!

6. To one who says dreams cost money,
first teach what dreams really are, honey.

7. I feel so happy with myself that I want to dig my own grave and lie down in it, without telling anyone anything!

8. When you put tears up for auction, let me know—I'll sell my poetry and buy some tears.

9. - Poet, why do you write?
- I don't know. But when I finish writing, I wonder: who made me write all this!?

10. You lecture me with grand words; with what face do you hurl abuses like whore, prostitute, slut?
You who carry on households without a husband's love—why?... To earn society's applause!?

11. Just looking at your eyes, one can tell how many years you've been nurturing love in your heart!

12. You said if we stayed alive, we'd meet again; but you didn't say how we'd meet if we don't stay alive!

13. - How are you, poet?
- However you've kept me.
- But I haven't kept you at all!

14. - Poet, quickly write me a poem!
- You first quickly give birth to a child and show me!

15. If you had appeared just once, perhaps I could have been saved!

16. - Well, where is your home?
- Ha ha ha! Does anyone ask a poet this question?

17. - Why did you leave your parents?
- They left me.
- Why!?
- Who would hold onto a child who committed the sin of writing poetry?

18. - Poet, may I touch your hand?
- It won't help; I dwell not in the body, but in the heart!

19. - Poet, why are you crying in this moment of joy!
- Staying awake all night, I managed to birth one word for a two-line poem; I'm crying with happiness! Ah, my one word! Ah, my four letters!

20. - Poet, why do you often choose to stay hungry?
- One who hides from the pangs of hunger would have been better off never being born!
