Bonsai of Thoughts (Translated)

Bonsai of Thought: Two Hundred and Twenty-One

1. You ask me to tell you what I think—but how can I?
If you knew what I truly think, would you ever want to know again?

2. Without you, would I have wanted to live like this?
With you, would living have been so much more?

3. If you didn't have to keep me at a distance,
tell me, what work would you have left to do?

4. I didn't get you, I got memory instead—
who can say? Perhaps your memory is more precious... than you yourself!

5. You tell me to move away—but I'm still alive!
You tell me to forget sorrow—but you're still distant!

6. Where is the place where you are not?
What meaning could such a place have?

7. Do eyes ever speak the heart's truth?
All I see is eyes shedding tears!

8. You left,
and just like that... you remained!

9. Losing me, you might find someone new;
but know this—you'll never find us again.

10. If you reveal yourself in every word,
then what becomes meaningless? You? Or your words?

11. A smile doesn't always mean a smile—
some smiles are masks too!

12. Tears often want to know:
"What is that sorrow that has held me back too?"

13. Every moment spent with you...
is either beautiful, or a teacher.

14. A moment that leaves nothing behind after passing
is not a moment at all, merely time.

15. After learning to live with you, drowning in the joy of being alive...
I didn't even notice when you slipped away!

16. If you won't understand even what is true,
then how, tell me, will you be able to understand me?

17. The simple path of a simple life...
keeping the enemy's life simpler still.

18. Finding love and loving back a little yourself too...
and with that, both souls breathe their last!

19. Still, you're better than those
who left and didn't stay beside you as you did!

20. One who has lost you so carelessly—
what is left for them not to lose?
