Bonsai of Thoughts (Translated)

Bonsai of Thought: One Hundred Thirty-Nine

1. Even while crossing the desert
I dream of rose gardens!

2. Even in a heart brimming with joy
sorrow sometimes peeks through.
Only then do I sense this heart's fidelity!

3. What kind of garden is this,
where spring dare not enter
even by mistake!

4. Even the small dream
of wanting to laugh a little—
tears wash it away!

5. In life there's no need
to keep the light on always.
Some things are visible
only in darkness.

6. If you must tear something, tear clothes
...keeping the heart intact.

7. One sorrow lives on
the consolation of another sorrow.

8. Where there is neither faith nor uncertainty,
what meaning can living have there!

9. If the one we love
did not forgive us sometimes,
would love have any value at all?

10. Let them say whatever comes to mind!
I'll simply stay silent!
Why raise the price of their thoughts!

11. The sorrow that is time's daughter
has countless children!

12. Whose sorrow is childless,
their joy is also childless.

13. I have seen this world
imprisoned many times
...within a pair of eyelids.

14. After finding you
a century's journey
ended in just a moment!

15. Reaching that destination is meaningless
whose path has no thorns scattered along it.

16. To accept sorrow with a smiling face
requires...either simplicity or madness.

17. Those I've lost in the crowd of memories,
they too suddenly return
to keep company with solitude!

18. Who has ever lived without sorrow?
Then why does everyone
tell their tale of grief...as if
no one else has any sorrow at all!

19. To save time
even for enemies
I keep the lamp of forgetfulness
burning.

20. What kind of silence is yours,
that even conceals the truth!
