Bonsai of Thoughts (Translated)

Bonsai of Thought: One Hundred Ninety

1. One who must explain every step they take—
people begin to fear them,
and gradually start to hate them,
though they remain silent in their fear and hatred.

2. Within every person lies something that could anger another.
But to avoid trouble, or out of love, that other person often chooses not to be angry.

3. "If I die, will you grieve?"
"Of course I will! But I'll also feel free."

4. "After all this, why don't you leave me? Because you love me?"
"Not exactly. I've grown older, new paths frighten me, so..."

5. One who seeks no explanation for anyone's path—
when even that person must explain themselves to everyone as they walk,
nothing could be more exhausting.

6. People want to fall in love,
but they want even more
for someone to fall in love with them.

7. People want everything to be to their liking.
Even lies and sins—if they suit their mood,
people raise no objection.

8. No, I don't need you.
I need some wordlessness and darkness.

9. When asked "How are you?" just say "I'm fine."
No one has time for your sorrows.

10. I like breathing in your scent.
I like the way you breathe in my scent.

11. To those we favor,
we appear radiant;
the rest remain dim.

12. You're laughing,
but I know
your heart is heavy.

13. People never change.
People embrace or reject time as they understand it
with the same old heart.

14. I no longer fear rejection.
To live is to know how to be rejected.

15. "I'll remember tonight."
"Do you love me that much?"
"You didn't notice what I said, it seems. I said...tonight...this feeling..."

16. The moments before the storm arrives...
must be celebrated.
What happens after the storm—who knows!

17. If only you knew
how weary I am!

18. To survive,
some people need...someone to love,
some people need...someone to hate.

19. "Are you very surprised?"
"The luxury of surprise no longer suits me."

20. Once I was with you.
Now I'm with myself.
People don't die from being alone,
if they let themselves be with themselves.
