Bengali Poetry (Translated)

Beloved Sin

All the buried grievances beloved to this life,
all the teardrops that have fallen from there,
they all lie hidden in those two eyes of yours—
unspoken and unexpressed, yet voiced in tenderness.

That's why, before I could understand anything,
I became an aged soul today…matured far too soon!

No no no…don't turn your eyes away!
I'll vanish in an instant if you look elsewhere!

Through the mounting blows of all that anguish,
the incompleteness that then surrounded me—
all of it has hidden itself away
in the mysterious fierce current of your sweet smile!

You know when this life's greatest sorrow comes? When
I care for you—though you don't want this knowing,
yet I cannot live without caring for you!

You are the most beloved sin of my entire life!
For you, virtue wore thin and only curses crowded in!
